G&S Business Communications, a global business communications agency, required a new, larger office space to unite its 70-plus employees into one office following an acquisition. J.A. Jennings, Inc. was selected to build the company’s new headquarters in Herald Square, taking the vacant space from a white box to a thoughtfully-designed office suite that encourages creative collaboration via an open floor plan.

The workspaces were designed with dozens of individual cubicles, as well as several open lounge areas and a spacious communal kitchen. Glass-walled offices, smaller meeting rooms and private telephone rooms line the corridors.

G&S wanted its reception area and main hallway that runs adjacent to its boardroom to be a focal point of the design. J.A. Jennings, Inc. installed custom millwork that resembles aged barn wood along the walls. The boardroom includes a sliding Modernfold wall partition to divide the space into two meetings rooms and was outfitted with a complex audio-video system for remote meetings and in-person and virtual training. J.A. Jennings, Inc. performed creative workarounds to reinforce the ceiling to support the partition and meet electrical and cabling requirements.

The partnership resulted in a multi-functional space that allowed G&S to unite its growing New York office and enhanced employees’ workplace experience.
